Omni-channel casino and sports betting operator and provider of online gambling technology Bally’s Corporation has secured entry into Kansas through a multi-year agreement with Boot Hill Casino & Resort in Dodge City.
Under the terms of the deal, Boot Hill Casino, as a manager on behalf of the state Lottery, would roll out Bally Bet, Bally’s mobile sportsbook, to provide local sports fans with access to premium wagering experience upon future enactment of a measure legalizing the practice across Kansas.
Efforts for the legalization of sports betting in the state fell short for a second year in a row after a bill on the matter was approved in the state Senate but failed in the House. However, Bally’s seems to be encouraged by the fact that the authorization of the practice has now continuously been under consideration.
As required by Kansas law, Bally’s deal with Boot Hill Casino would see it license, transfer, or lease the necessary mobile sportsbook elements to the Kansas Lottery. Under state gambling rules, it is namely the Lottery that owns and operates all gambling across the state.
Launched in late 2009, Boot Hill Casino was the first state-owned and operated casino in Kansas. It features nearly 650 slot machines and 16 table games.
It should be noted that Kansas could become the third state where Bally’s does not operate a physical gambling establishment and will have to build its local market presence through its digital platform.
Another Attractive Mobile Sports Wagering Market
Kansas is the 14th state Bally’s has been able to expand its mobile presence into as it looks to establish itself as a leading provider of both B2B and B2C digital gambling services.
The company debuted the Bally Bet mobile sportsbook in Colorado in late May. The sports betting solution was developed and is powered by Bet.Works, Bally’s in-house wagering platform provider which it purchased earlier this month. The operator first announced the acquisition of the other company in late 2020, saying at the time that the move was pivotal to its plans to launch a B2B2C model with considerable growth potential in the rapidly growing US sports betting market.
Bally’s plans to launch the Bally Bet app in three more states by the end of the year. Subsequent launches are scheduled for 2022 in more markets where sports betting is a regulated industry.
